Hannah Allen, PhD
Hannah has a B.S. and Ph.D. in nutritional sciences from the University of Florida and is completing work experience to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Hannah's focus has been to help clients feel better about themselves and their lives by helping them heal eating issues and improve body image. With these changes, her clients find taking care of themselves and eating healthfully much easier to do.
She has over 10 years of experience in a clinical research setting where she was involved with prescribing medical nutrition therapy to children with epilepsy. During this time she specialized in using food as medicine for children who did not respond to traditional treatment.
She has been interested in alternative approaches to eating and weight for several years and has been studying intuitive eating and Health At Every Size (HAES). Recently, she began intensive training with Karin to implement this work in her practice. She is passionate about helping clients tune into their internal signals and embrace the intuitive eater within. She is also passionate about body positivity and body acceptance and practicing health at every size with her clients.
Hannah will begin taking clients on April 2 under the direct supervision of Karin as part of her work experience. Although she is experienced and has a PhD, Hannah is not yet a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, nor is she a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist. She will be taking the exam in late May, so until then she will offer her services as a Nutrition Coach at a slightly reduced rate. Insurance cannot be billed for her services until she is is licensed and registered.
Hannah is a member of the American Nutrition and Dietetic Association, American Academy of Nutrition, and the American Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition.
